Stephen Holt, BSE, CSCS, PES is the winner of the 2003 American
Council on Exercise Personal Trainer of the Year Award and the

He is also a three-time Finalist for NSCA Personal Trainer of
the Year and 7-time nominee for IDEA Personal Trainer of the
Year.
Holt is a member of the Clinical Advisory Board of the American
Running Association, and served seven years on the Governor's
Advisory Council on Physical Fitness in Maryland. In addition,
he served two terms as State Director of the National Strength
& Conditioning Association.
A nationally respected speaker and writer on many aspects of
fitness and business, Stephen is a graduate of Duke University's
School of Engineering and holds multiple certifications from
ACSM, NSCA, ACE, NASM, the CHEK Institute, AAAI, and the North
American Academy of Health, Fitness and Rehab Professionals.

Bio
Stephen Holt is a graduate of the Duke University
School of Engineering where he assisted with strength and conditioning
programs that helped fourteen of his teammates reach the NFL.
Stephen
has been cited as one of the industry's top trainers at the
1998 IDEA International Personal Training Summit, in Fitness
Magazine, in Health and Fitness Source Magazine, and by the
editors of Personal Trainer Magazine.
In
addition to being named 2003 ACE Personal Trainer of the Year,
Stephen was a 2002 ACE/IHRSA Personal Trainer of the Year Finalist,
3-time National Strength and Conditioning Association Personal
Trainer of the Year Finalist, 2001 PTontheNet.com Personal Trainer
of the Year Finalist and 7-time IDEA/Life Fitness International
Personal Trainer of the Year Award Nominee.
Holt
is a member of the Clinical Advisory Board of the American Running
Association, and served seven years on the Governor's Advisory

Holt
has spoken at numerous conventions most notably the Club Industry
East Conventions in New York City, Boston, Washington, DC and
Baltimore and the Maryland Strength Conference in Germantown.
His
most popular topics have included "Core Training that Makes
a Difference," "Biomechanical Analysis of Resistance Exercises
and Machines: Understanding the Tools of Your Trade," "Basic
Biomechanics for Fitness Professionals" and "Getting Started
with Functional Training."
Stephen's
advice has helped numerous athletes including current clients
Andrea Leand - 1984 Olympian and Wimbledon quarter-finalist
- and B.J. Surfoff - 1984 Olympian, 1999 All-Star and current
Baltimore Oriole.
Past
clients include Olympic trials participants in the marathon,
110-m hurdles, 100m dash, and bobsled. He's also worked extensively
with young athletes particularly lacrosse players with six lacrosse
All-Americans in four years, clients on three of the 2001 NCAA
Women's Lacrosse Final Four and clients on both women's and
men's NCAA Championship teams in 2001.
Stephen
is the author of The 3-4-5 Total Body Fitness Training System
and wrote the chapter "The Routine that Worked Wonders" in The
Power of Champions.
He's
also contributed a chapter to the speed training ebook produced
by SpeedExperts.com and has written chapters on Core Training
in Secrets of Female Strength and Conditioning and Shape Shift.
Holt
has appeared in over two dozen national magazines including
sports-oriented magazines like Women's Sports and Fitness and
Outside, professional trade magazines like IDEA Personal Trainer
and Personal Fitness Professional, general men's fitness magazines
including Men's Health and Men's Fitness, general women's fitness
